Transfer Maps - 2018-2019 archive
Transfer maps are major maps for community college students who plan on transferring to VCU. VCU has partnered with community colleges to provide similar academic and career-planning guidance to prospective transfer students as provided to incoming first year students at VCU. This guidance includes a recommended four-year degree plan that outlines courses and requirements to be taken at the community college in the first two years as well as courses that remain to be taken at VCU for the final two years.
VCU continues to increase the number of Transfer Maps available to community college students from Virginia. If you do not find your community college or prospective VCU bachelor’s degree program represented in the list of available Transfer Maps, please submit an Advising Request to the VCU Transfer Center.
Students interested in transfer maps for G3 funded programs at community colleges can search for them by typing "G3" in the keyword search. Similarly, students interested in accelerated bachelor's to master's degree programs can search for them by typing "accelerated" in the keyword search.
The course recommendations in the four-year degree plan are based on students completing those courses and the associate degree at the community college. VCU will evaluate courses taken at other institutions and Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) credit according to VCU's policy. Students with questions about how AP or IB credit will transfer to VCU should review the Undergraduate Bulletin.
Use our course equivalency tables to check if courses you’ve completed at other institutions will transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University. Virginia community college students can locate equivalency information under VA Community College System.
